Thank you, Sherrilyn. It is important to honor Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement. We must continue the fight. I loved the photos. I was an undergraduate at UCLA when Reagan was Governor. He was a racist and hated higher education.
Thank you for this remembrance. We need to keep reminding ourselves and each other that we carry the memory and we need to carry the flame to the youngest generations to continue the work. Questions and issues about difference and equality are threaded throughout the Bible, beginning in Genesis and weaving through to Revelations (just learned this today!). We may resolve the issues permanently, perhaps that is one of our human tasks to work for, but we will, with God’s help, eventually achieve equality, justice and peace.
