It feels strange to "heart" your upsetting terrifying piece, but I am applauding that you are getting the information out there so compellingly and will share it.

Thank you so much. This is exactly the reporting/analysis that I have been waiting/looking for. I appreciate your documenting everything so clearly and compellingly. I will repost it in every forum I have access to, (and I am printing it out because I will need time to digest so much information).

I am grateful that we have leaders like you. Dubois was right. The excellence of Black women and men makes some white folk tremble.

Ms. Ifill, I am grateful, this early morning , to read your essay. Clarity, strength and hope are rooted in your point of view, sparking a fierceness within to this long injustice laid bare.

Bravo! With customary detail, passion and integrity, Sherrilyn Ifill describes and confronts Trump/MAGA/DOGE and their unceasing efforts to not only rewrite history to eliminate the white savagery inflicted upon Blacks and to make Black achievements vanish, but to change the current and future social, political, legal and economic orders of the United States into a white, Christian Nationalist regime that turns important historical events, laws and even Constitutional amendments into substantiation of their narrative. And many real people, present and future, and their communities, will suffer. WE CANNOT RETURN TO CASTE AND APARTHEID!! For this and many other reasons - the evisceration of public health programs, the discarding of alliances with good faith partners whose values, we, normal Americans, share in favor of transactional deals with autocrats, the refusal to acknowledge and mitigate and adapt to climate change, the outright cruelty to people of minority gender and sexuality and language and religion and on and on - WE MUST TAKE TO THE STREETS AS THE WEATHER WARMS!! FREQUENTLY, PEACEFULLY, BUT WITH STRUCTURED CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE!! LET'S ORGANIZE AND MARCH!!

Parents should use this piece to educate their kids since schools' curriculum won't teach such "controversial matters"!

I've been shaking my head as mainstream media keeps saying "Constitutional crisis?" thinking well, I'm not a lawyer or politician. Maybe I'm not understanding something. Thank you for bringing the sanity and straight talk, yet again!
